Heat Advisory
Ontario County Public Health announces that a heat advisory is currently in effect for Ontario County, New York. The National Weather Service advisory signifies elevated temperatures that can pose health risks, particularly to vulnerable populations.
During this period of heightened temperatures, it is crucial to take precautions to protect yourself and others from heat-related illnesses:
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Stay Cool: Spend time in air-conditioned locations or use fans to circulate air.
Limit Outdoor Activities: Especially during peak heat hours (typically 11 AM to 4 PM).
Check on Vulnerable Neighbors: Ensure those who may be at higher risk are coping with the heat adequately.
Never Leave Children or Pets in Vehicles: Temperatures inside vehicles can rise to dangerous levels quickly.
