FLCC Campus Centers to Host Summer Day Camps
The College will host a series of half-day summer camps in July at the campus centers in Newark, Victor and Geneva for students entering grades 7 through 9 in the fall.
The three STEAM camps will provide students with a range of activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math. Each camp has a theme and will run two sessions each day for one week as follows:
July 11 to 15: STEAM in Motion at the Victor Campus Center: Students will study motion through the lens of engineering science, mechanical technology and other disciplines.
July 18 to 22: Growing Minds at the Geneva Campus Center: Topics include the science of stream water quality, technology used in fruit harvest and processing, and the engineering of ecosystems.
July 25 to 29: STEAM Exploration at the Newark Campus Center: Students will take part in activities exploring the natural world, sustainability, and environmental issues.
The morning session runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. Click the image for a flyer to print or share.
The cost is $130 per week and includes materials, a T-shirt and snack each day. Scholarships are available; details are on the registration form at flcc.edu/STEAM. The deadline to register is June 17.
